Former Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, made a guest appearance on Fox News today after a five month hiatus from the network, and it didn’t take long for the former Alaskan governor to get on her soapbox with the usual finger-pointing she is known for. With her popularity slowly fading after a mid-term resignation as Alaskan governor and failed bid as vice presidential candidate in the election of 2008, it seems Palin’s re-appearance on Fox News is just a desperate attempt for a last chance in the limelight.
Palin wasted no time during her hour-long guest appearance on “Fox and Friends”, ranting about CBS journalist, Elizabeth Palmer, referencing the journalist’s Tea Party comparison in a report aired by CBS this past weekend discussing the Iranian election and Iran’s new president, Hassan Rahjani. “Well, [Rahjani] was seen as the most reform-minded of all the candidates who ran this time, that being said, they were all very conservative. In U.S. terms it was as if all the candidates for the [Iranian] presidency came from the Tea Party,” Palmer said in the report. Palmer’s remarks stirred up controversy within conservative groups, and especially irritated the nerves of Palin, as she took it upon herself to blast Palmer and CBS on Fox.
“Okay, Elizabeth, you just put the BS in CBS,” Palin said during the show. “It’s things like that that people hear and see and realize how out of touch the lamestream, the mainstream media is. To compare, really, the Iranian revolutionaries with those who are patriots in America and just want [the] government to live within its Constitution?”
Palin announced last week that she plans to rejoin Fox News as a contributor even though she bid adieu to the network back in January after a three-year bout, where in the past she has slammed fellow politicians and even the President with her stance on political issues.
