The founding principle of broadcast media in the United States is that it must serve the public interest. But over the years, the media has become less of a service to citizens, and more of a propaganda machine for the Republican Party. Media conglomerates control almost all media outlets from print to television, and American citizens are hardly able to get real, accurate news.
