Original: Police Investigating Tea Party Campaign Member Locked in Courthouse with Ballots
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department has issued a statement that it does not accept the version of events issued by the McDaniel’s campaign about the events that transpired Wednesday night.
The campaign’s version of why three individuals were inside of the Hinds County Courthouse in we early morning hours with election ballots on Wednesday was that those individuals were allowed in by “uniformed personnel.”
The Sheriff’s Department spokesman Othor Cain said, “It’s a fabrication that someone pointed them to a door. I think that’s a total misrepresentation of fact. None of our guys let anybody in.”
Ballots for the race between Thad Cochran and Chris McDaniel were being held in the courthouse that night.
