This week, the general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board stated that fast food giant McDonald’s could be regarded as a ‘joint-employer’ in context of complaints from workers in their individual franchises. This could mean that McDonald’s may not be able to escape liability in certain cases of management malpractice at its franchises.
