Joe and Rhonda Meath of Minnesota won $11.7 million last weekend from the state lottery. But they announced that they will forego a life of pampered luxury and instead donate a portion of their money to charity. The other portions will be set aside for their four children and three grandchildren.
“I don’t think it’s going to change our life much. We just hope it doesn’t change the people around us,” said Joe. “We’re easy going. Laid-back. We like our family. We love our dogs. We are just going to do what we do.”
Rhonda, who is a waitress, will continue working her job at the Lake Elmo Inn.
