With Joe Biden’s extensive history of gaffes, the vice president’s unsparingly candid speech targeted the Tea Party this week, reported Talking Points Memo.
During a closed-doors meeting yesterday, Biden said that the Tea Party was “crazy” and that its adherents have “no judgement.” Someone in attendance provided a “detailed readout” of what Biden said, TPM reported.
“This is not your father’s Republican Party,” said Biden. “This is a different breed of cat, man. I am not making a moral judgement, but I will tell you that they have no judgement.”
“If they win again, we are going to get no consensus on anything for the next two, four, six years,” continued Biden. “But if we beat some of these folks, it’s going to give some spine to the Republicans who know better.”
If nothing else, the vice president is at least honest and candid in his speech. Sometimes his directness has gotten him into a bit of trouble, but he’s never really said anything offensive about the way the Republicans seem to do their business. Biden just slips out a few curse words and says the Tea Party is crazy, and everyone knows just how crazy the Tea Party is.
