Darren Wilson, the police officer who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown, has officially resigned from the Ferguson Police Department, reported The Huffington Post. Wilson’s resignation comes only days after a grand jury decided not to indict him of any criminal charges related to the shooting.
Racial and social tensions reached critical mass last Monday after the grand jury’s decision was announced. High emotions boiled over, turning into violence and rioting as a group of people who felt cheated by the decision took to the streets.
