On Sunday’s episode of Meet the Press, host Chuck Todd had on a panel of comedians to discuss the value of such shows as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
The panel, made up of Lewis Black, W. Kamau Bell, and Laura Kraftt, responded to the idea that such shows made America more cynical by saying that the opposite was actually true.
“Have you been on Twitter, on Facebook?” asked Bell. “The cynicism is there. If anything, the Daily Show gives you hope.”
