The Republicans’ love of guns has tragically killed another person, this time one of their very own, reported Talking Points Memo.
Christina Bond, a “low-level” GOP official from Michigan, accidentally shot herself in the eye while trying to adjust her bra holster. Initially ruled as an accidental shooting, investigators recently confirmed what happened.
According to investigators, “she was having trouble adjusting her bra holster, couldn’t get it to fit the way she wanted it to. She was looking down at it and accidentally discharged the weapon.”
Reports have noted that Bond’s full autopsy report has yet to be released, but will create a full illustration of the incident.
Republicans are so dead-set on promoting gun rights and open carry laws. Being a military veteran, Bond was surely more than qualified to operate and own a firearm. However, this incident goes to show that no matter how trained and qualified one person is, deadly accidents can still happen with guns around.
