According to recent reports, research scientists are predicting much of the country – especially the Great Plains and the American Southwest – will be affected by “persistent” megadroughts by the end of the century. California is currently in the throes of the worst drought its experienced in centuries with little relief in sight. In other words, things don’t look great for the future.
