Real estate mogul Robert Durst was arrested last Friday after airing of the final episode of the HBO Documentary The Jinx. In the episode, Durst goes to the bathroom and mutters to himself that he “killed them all, of course,” after apparently having forgotten that he was still on microphone.
This highlights for Wilmore the two different justice systems at work in America. In one, affluent Americans have to have an investigative documentary performed before police will charge anyone with a crime. In the other, walking down the street while being black can get you jail time.
