Over the past week, stickers have been appearing on the windows of businesses in East Austin that said “Exclusively for White People, Maximum of 5 Colored Customers, Colored BOH [Back of House] Staff Accepted.”
Attorney Adam Reposa, in a very awkward, shirtless rant, has taken responsibility for the stickers. In a video he posted on YouTube, Reposa said he was trying to draw attention to the gentrification of the city.
“Why I did it is pretty obvious,” Reposa said in the video. “Because it would be obvious that even though people know the real problem – that the real problem is that people without money are getting f*cked.”
“They’re getting pushed out, and pretty quick. This area of the town is turning into whites only,” he continued. “Not by law like it used to be, and everyone’s going to jump on, ‘that’s racist! that’s racist!’ Man, this town, the way sh*t works is racist! And I knew I could bait all of y’all into being as stupid as you are.”
