Ted Nugent is always good for some insane, ultra-conservative banter that’s senselessly violent. During his appearance at the National Rifle Association’s annual convention, Nugent said he would shoot Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), reported Talking Points Memo.
An audience member asked Nugent why the NRA, which Nugent is a board member of, “endorsed Harry Reid to serve as the front man of Osama Obama.” In response, Nugent said Reid was a “lying prick” and used a hypothetical situation to illustrate his point.
“If your child is dying and there’s only one way to get to the doctor, would you get on Harry Reid’s boat to get there?” he said. “Then your child’s dead. I’d get on the boat, I’d get there and then I’d shoot him.”
There are so many confusing and non-contextual things going on in that response. Leave it to conservatives to create far-fetched scenarios to justify their insane beliefs. Nugent then called upon audience members to still donate to the NRA even if the organization does something they don’t agree with.
“If you see them endorse someone like Harry Reid it’s because this deceptive bastard actually stood up for our Second Amendment rights contrary to the alternative candidate.”
Talking Points Memo further noted that Reid had a “solid working relationship” with the NRA until 2010 when the group ceased its endorsement of Reid. Below is the audio of Nugent being insane, as usual.
Ted Nugent is the epitome of right-wing violence and hatred. He is part of the gun-crazed, conservative fringe that thinks shooting politicians is a good idea.
