Parma, Missouri has just sworn in its first African-American woman as its mayor. The election of Tyrus Byrd has upset many of the more racist individuals in the town. Following her election, five of the city’s six police officers resigned from their post.

The officers were not alone in their resignations, many others joined them. Parma’s city attorney, the clerk of court, and the water treatment plant supervisor resigned as well.
