Right-wing media outlets have widely been known by those that follow the media and check facts to be sources of disinformation rather than hard-hitting news. New numbers from Pew back up that understanding.

According to a new survey from the Pew Research Center, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck’s radio talk shows are distrusted by all three generations that Pew surveyed (Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers).

It makes sense that media consumers should have a healthy distrust of right-wing media. Conservative media is known for its inflammatory remarks, sexism, racism and its willingness to perpetuate a false narrative.

Other interesting notes to the study continue to parallel with common sense notions. Older generations were more likely to be less aware of new or emerging media sources.

From the study:

Because awareness of these sources differs both across generation and from one source to the next, the total percent who can weigh in to express their trust or distrust also varies across generations and sources. For example, only 23% of Baby Boomers have heard of Slate, which means that only 23% of Baby Boomers could express whether they trust or distrust Slate. On the other hand, 95% of Baby Boomers have heard of ABC News, which means 95% were able to express whether they trust or distrust it.
