According to conservative talking head Glenn Beck, the recent floods in Texas are God’s response to a prayer said by former Texas Gov. Rick Perry in 2011, reported Right Wing Watch.
A drought has plagued Texas for several years, and now that the eastern part of the state is getting torrential rainfall, Beck and co-host Stu Burguiere believe the entire Texas drought will end.
“We started digging our way out of that drought about three years ago, but that’s definitely over,” said Beck. Burguiere reminded Beck that former Gov. Perry prayed for rain in 2011.
“Will he get blamed for the success of the rain and the flooding?” he asked.
“He was mocked for it and he went ahead and did it and that was the beginning of the end of the drought,” responded Beck. “We started having rain right after that, and this state was a desert.”
The Wall Street Journal reported that the recent floods have killed 27 people in Texas.
Should we thank Perry or God for that?
