Josh Duggar’s sister, and former victim, Jessa, has come forward to defend her brother’s crimes of incestuous molestation, reported The Huffington Post.
While appearing on The Kelly File, Jessa defending Josh saying that the accusations of him being a pedophile and child molester are “so overboard and a lie.” The Duggars’ parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, also appeared on The Kelly File to speak about the recent controversy involving the family.
“As parents we felt we’re failures, you know,” said Mrs. Duggar. “Here we tried to raise our kids to, to do what’s right and know what’s right. And yet, one of our children made really bad choices.”
Last month, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar announced that their son, Josh, had molested his sisters and other young girls when he was a teenager. The fallout was massive. Calls for Josh’s prosecution erupted on the internet and the airwaves.
Arkansas law enforcement was aware of Josh’s actions over a decade ago and launched an investigation. Since then, any record recounting the investigation has been destroyed by the police. Josh Duggar was never charged or tried for his crimes. The abuses happened while Jim Bob Duggar was an Arkansas state representative. It’s unclear whether or not Mr. Duggar’s role in state politics was advantageous to Josh.
After the revelations that Josh Duggar molested his young sisters and other girls, TLC immediately pulled all episodes of 19 Kids and Counting off the air.
