We are not all created equal. At least not when it comes to water rights. That’s the message coming from rich, conservative, troglodyte Steve Yuhas. He is not happy about the California drought or the water rationing or the idea that he should be shamed for wanting to make his grass green while others are being forced to cut back on their water consumption.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Yuhas said that people “should not be forced to live on property with brown lawns, golf on brown courses or apologize for wanting their gardens to be beautiful.” Yuhas continued, “We pay significant property taxes based on where we live. And, no, we’re not all equal when it comes to water.”
Yuhas is described as living in an “ultra-wealthy enclave” in southern California called Rancho Santa Fe. He is a conservative radio host and is known for his bland parroting of conservative talking points.
As part of the call from the Governor to reduce water usage, a fine will be charged against major offenders. Brown called for water usage to be reduced by 25 percent; in response, Rancho Santa Fe’s usage went up 9 percent.
“I’m a conservative, so this is strange, but I defend Barbra Streisand’s right to have a green law,” Yuhas said. “When we bought, we didn’t plan on getting a place that looks like we’re living in an African savanna.”
Poor pitiful rich guy didn’t understand that, even though he doesn’t think he has the same water rights as the poor, the rain falls on them all the same.
