After presidential candidate Donald Trump made several disparaging comments about Mexico, latin network Univision decided not to broadcast Trump’s Miss USA pageant on July 12. Trump has vowed to sue the network, reported RawStory.

“At Univision, we see first-hand the work ethic, love for family, strong religious values and the important role Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans have had and will continue to have in building the future of our country,” said the network in a statement.

Univision’s boycott extends past the pageant as the network will completely sever itself from any projects related to the Trump Organization. Trump is getting what he deserves after referring to Mexican immigrants as “rapists” during his candidacy announcement.

“The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems…When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump said. “They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

Other than threatening a lawsuit against Univision, Trump banned Univision staff from his Miami golf resort. He insists that the Mexican government is trying to silence his opinions on immigration.

“The Mexican government is putting pressure on Univision to get me to stop exposing the weaknesses the U.S. has at the southern border,” said Trump.

He also went on a Twitter storm and trashed Univision.

As far as that last tweet, Univision didn’t drop Trump because he “exposed” bad trade deals. Univision dropped Trump because he’s a racist idiot. At least he’s something to laugh at when the debates roll around.
