Republican presidential candidate and pathological liar Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is facing criticism from his own party over the contents of his book A Time For Truth. It turns out that Cruz’s book is anything but truthful, containing fabrications about fellow Republicans.
Addicting Info reported that Cruz wrote an anecdote about how Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell misled Cruz about a position in the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2014 elections. Cruz writes: “[McConnell] promised that the committee would stay out of primaries from here on out. But it soon became clear that the NRSC had every intention of supporting incumbents — in primaries — against conservative challengers across the country.”
McConnell’s staff said that Cruz’s account was untrue and that the committee’s only job is to protect incumbent candidates during elections. What’s more, Cruz accused McConnell and party leadership of stonewalling Cruz’s donors and PACs. McConnell’s spokesman said that story is “pure fantasy.”
During Cruz’s 2013 government shutdown campaign, he had the help of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). Although Paul spoke on the senate floor and supported Cruz’s 21-hour fake filibuster, Cruz said Paul bailed completely. However, Additing Info noted that senate transcripts indicated otherwise, meaning Cruz is lying again.
Ted Cruz is a big fat liar. His camp even tried to manipulate his book’s sales figures so it could get onto the New York Times Bestseller list. The NYT got wise and noticed that the books were bought in bulk, making the book ineligible to make the list. Nobody likes Cruz, not even his own party.
