While discussing the Iran nuclear deal, a historic piece of international diplomacy, some knucklehead reporter with corporate media instead asks President Obama about Bill Cosby. Several reports of the exchange didn’t note who asked the question nor which outlet the person represented.

The unnamed reporter asked Obama whether he thought Bill Cosby’s Medal of Freedom should be revoked. Before entertaining the reporter, Obama noted that it’s not policy for him to take a clear stance on open criminal or civil cases. Obama then broke his important geopolitical narrative and vaguely answered. “There’s no precedent for revoking a medal,” said Obama. “I’ll say this: if you give a woman – or a man, for that matter – without his or her knowledge a drug and then have sex with that person without consent, that’s rape.”

Okay, corporate media. The president answered your stupid question, now back to important stuff. However, the media took Obama’s response and ran with it. Instead of the Iran deal, Obama’s comments about Cosby turned into a barnburner of a news story.

This sounds like the work of a CNN reporter. It has to be CNN. No other news outlet (maybe Fox News) has the gall or stupidity to ask such a thing at such a time. The President of the United States of America is talking about a major diplomatic deal regarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and this hack wants to discuss Dr. Cliff Huxtable.
