Big Coal is behind more climate denial science than was previously known. New information released from The Intercept has exposed that Koch-affiliated groups, along with groups linked to Karl Rove, have helped fund ads supporting Mitch McConnell in the Kentucky Senate race against Alison Grimes and President Obama’s so-called “War on Coal.” All of these groups have one thing in common, they take major donations from Alpha Natural Resources, the country’s second-largest coal company.
