Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush said to a small group in Iowa that Net Neutrality was one of the “craziest ideas” he’s ever heard of. He also proposed a policy designed to roll back Net Neutrality.
“Rather than enhancing consumer welfare, these rules prohibit one group of companies (Internet Service Providers) from charging another group of companies (content companies) the full cost of using their services,” stated the proposal.
The fight over Net Neutrality has pitted content providers like Netflix against ISPs like AT&T and Verizon. The ISPs want to charge the content providers more money to deliver content faster to consumers. This increase in pricing would affect the consumers in the end. This is something that Bush doesn’t seem to realize.
