Sports analyst Jessica Mendoza made history on Tuesday by being the first woman to call a Major League Baseball Postseason game. However, Atlanta-based sports radio host Mike Bell didn’t approve of Mendoza’s spot on the ESPN team and sent a sexist tweet.

The name “Tits McGhee” is a reference from the movie Anchorman and was used as a derogatory term against Mendoza. Bell was reportedly suspended for an unspecified amount of time. The station played a pre-recorded apology taped by Bell.

“I didn’t get it,” Bell reportedly said. “I get it now. There is no place for that kind of stuff on my show. I will be more mindful. I hope I can be a better talk show host and better person. This has been an eye-opening experience.”

Women are becoming a bigger part of male-dominated professional sports. The Arizona Cardinals football team brought in the first female coach for the pre-season, and Michael Waltrip Racing recently admitted NASCAR’s first female pit crew member.
