An interesting protest is brewing at the University of Texas as students seek to find innovative ways to oppose the recent passage of laws that would allow for the open-carry of guns on campus. Their plan is to open-carry dildos.
The group of students, over 2,000 strong at this time, intend to carry the sex toys on campus as a protest to Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) signing S.B. 11 which provides that “license holders may carry a concealed handgun throughout university campuses, starting Aug. 1, 2016.”
“You’re carrying a gun to class?” Jessiva Jin, the group’s founder, wrote on Facebook. “Yeah well I’m carrying a HUGE DILDO. Just about as effective at protecting us from sociopathic shooters, but much safer for recreational play.”
The group explains that it finds it offensive that the State of Texas finds fault with openly carrying a sex toy, but no error in openly carrying a gun.
“The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms,” Jin said, “however, it DOES have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence. You would receive a citation for taking a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class. Heaven forbid the penis.”
