A pro-Confederate flag protester in Mississippi said that it’s “anti-Semitic” to remove the Confederate flag portion of the Mississippi state flag. His reasoning is a long stretch, to put it mildly.

“If they’re offended I question their motivations because the blue in the Confederate battle flag represents St. Andrew who was an apostle of Jesus Christ and he was Jewish and makes me wonder if they’re anti-Semitic,” said protester Craig Haden, who protested removing that portion of the flag.

The protest was in response to the “Take It Down March Rally,” in which Republican state Rep. Jenny Horne of South Carolina said it’s time to remove Confederate symbols from government.
