Steven Tyler sent Donald Trump a cease-and-desist order to stop using his song “Dream On.” Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that Tyler did this because he hates Trump’s message. It’s because he hasn’t paid for the right to use it.
This is very disappointing. You would think that Tyler would be a Democrat. He is not. According to CBS, Tyler is registered as a Republican. He even attended the Republican debates in August. Even Tyler’s attorney said it was not a “political” or “personal issue with Mr. Trump,” but simply a permission and copyright issue. Meaning, pay us, and you can use it. We have no problem with your racist and bigot statements. We simply want money.
