As usual, Wall Street crime got no mention during the Republican presidential debate on Wednesday night. Republicans perpetuate Wall Street crime and, to similar extents, so do several Democrats.
During the debate on CNBC, the moderators brought up the subject of regulating daily fantasy sports leagues and whether they should be considered gambling. The moderators, who work for a financial news network, never mentioned white-collar crime. That’s very unsettling.
Lenient treatment of Wall Street now transcends party lines. The Democratic party is supposed to be the party that protects the People from Wall Street criminality. Instead, it perpetuates that crime in the same manner as the Republicans. It’s proof that money talks and every politician is for sale.
Because Wall Street crime has been ignored at every Republican debate thus far, it shows that the conservatives have very little interest in controlling corporate crime.
