During the debate on Wednesday, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said it was “total propaganda” that he had a relationship with supplement company Mannatech Inc. The company settled a $7 million false advertising lawsuit regarding the company’s claims that its products cure autism and cancer.
Armstrong Williams, Carson’s business manager, acknowledged that Carson did have a contract with Mannatech Inc.
“Nothing is ever what it appears to be,” he said. “What is good about this is that I actually negotiated the contract as his business manager.”
