Stephen Colbert of The Late Show donned a colorful wig and sipped from a neon cocktail Wednesday night as he celebrated Bobby Jindal’s campaign end. In a Hunger Games-themed sketch, Colbert compared presidential candidates to the scrappy children featured in the hit dystopian films.
Colbert showed clips of Jindal who, during his time running for president, called for a change in the Republican party and argued that the party must “stop being the stupid party.”
“Apparently not!” Colbert joked. “Because offensive and bizarre are in first and second place.” Colbert, of course, was referring to a pictured Trump and Carson.
Colbert expertly utilized Jindal’s insignificant announcement to argue against the frivolity of the entire GOP candidate pool.
