No Justice For Tamir Rice: Court Refuses to Prosecute Child Murdering Cop

The family of deceased 12-year-old Tamir Rice says that they are “saddened and disappointed . . . but not surprised” by the decision made by an Ohio Grand Jury not to return an indictment in the 2014 murder of young Rice by Cleveland Police Officer Timothy Loehmann.

The jury ruled that they had not found sufficient evidence which showed that the officer acted outside of what was acceptable.

Said Prosecutor Tim McGinty,

“The state must be able to show that the officers acted outside the constitutional boundaries set forth by the Supreme Court of these United States.”
“Simply put: Given this perfect storm of human error, mistakes and communications by all involved that day, the evidence did not indicate criminal conduct by police.”

The family of Rice says that they hope the Criminal Justice System will step in to conduct a “real investigation.”
