Pharma Bro Martin Shkreli has been having a bad couple of months, having been arrested for suspected securities fraud and forced to resign as CEO from his companies, but things might be getting just a little bit better as the chatterbox has been subpoenaed and called to appear before congress to testify about the rapid rise in drug prices in America.
As the New York Times reports, Shkreli loves to talk about his reprehensible actions on just about any platform, so it makes sense that he would be delighted to share his staunch beliefs about drug pricing.
He already has quite a bit of experience defending his own previous drug hikes. Shkreli likes to say that he does not regret hiking drug prices for HIV meds and others and that he even wished he had raised prices even higher. Luckily, he won’t have that chance now.
Shkreli has apparently fired his legal team, so it is unclear if he will have legal representation, but nevertheless, he will be headed to congress soon to talk about his very favorite topic with a very rapt audience.
