Last week, President Obama nominated Merrick Garland to fill the Supreme Court seat that was vacated by the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. The Republicans are saying that they won’t allow a confirmation hearing, even though they’ve had nothing but praise for Garland in the past. And that fact – that praise from Republicans – should scare the Democrats. But there are even more judicial problems facing this country than just one Supreme Court seat.
