If anyone is bound to totally “not get” the issue of transgender rights in America, it’s bound to be evangelical crook Pat Robertson.
In a recent episode of “The 700 Club,” Robertson put his confusion and anger on full display when he said that all trans individuals are really just frauds.
Ah, of course, the growing right-wing idea that trans people go through years of therapy, hormonal changes, and incredible emotional turmoil and trauma just so they can sneak in on your daughter or son in the public restroom.
Robertson’s comments came when the news broke that Bruce Springsteen and other musicians were canceling shows and tours in North Carolina in the midst of the state’s newly restrictive laws on LGBT individuals.
“This is a phony, phony, phony cause to get involved in. We’ve got to look after the transgenders. This is nonsense.”
