Most Americans say Social Security should be left alone, but Republicans have wanted to privatize it for years. The fight has most recently been led by House Speaker Paul Ryan. Now, GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump, who originally indicated that he “would not touch social security” has changed course, saying he’s open to it.
