An internal investigation of the Facebook news algorithm has found no evidence of discrimination or bias against right-wing media sources.
This investigation was launched after several news stories began to circulate, alleging that Facebook purposely excludes conservative news sources in its aggregation of headlines.
Conservative outlets were outraged when they heard these allegations, saying that Facebook was unfairly controlling the news their users saw. Of course, Facebook is not considered by anyone to be a real media outlet. Nevertheless, conservatives everywhere were up in arms and calling for a boycott of the popular social media outlet.
The internal investigation found that the site approved conservative and liberal topics at nearly identical rates.
Despite the findings of the internal investigation, Facebook says that it will no longer use the same information-gathering methods which led to the implication.
In addition, Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with more than a dozen conservative politicians and politicos to discuss the controversy.
