Though no one should be particularly concerned with what a criminal has to say about the presidential election, notorious “pharma bro” Martin Shkreli’s endorsement of Donald Trump is too appropriate to ignore.

Having been reinstated to his natural habitat of trolling the internet and oversharing via social media, Shkreli posted to his Twitter account on Friday that when it comes down to Clinton vs. Trump, the rich kid is all-in for the rich man.

Shkreli had previously supported the Bernie Sanders campaign and had attempted to donate a large sum to the campaign. The Sanders campaign rejected the donation and instead put the funds toward another nonprofit unassociated with politics.

Shkreli was arrested near the end of 2015 for securities fraud and other charges related to the use of funds from one company which was funneled into another. Shkreli became infamous for hiking the price of an HIV drug by 5,000 percent overnight. He reveled in the media attention it brought him and he later told journalists that he wished he had set the price for the drug even higher.

Now that the “Pharma Bro” is under criminal investigation and is heading back to court in June, he has been fired or removed from the companies he was a part of and spends much of his time livestreaming on YouTube. What a valuable endorsement for the Republican demagogue.
