In less than a week – citizens in Switzerland will vote on proposals to introduce a universal basic income. The electorate won’t actually choose whether to implement the proposal – they’ll instead decide whether or not to support the principle of the new measure in a non-binding referendum. The initiative’s founders have proposed that each adult should receive 2500 francs per month – and that every child should receive 625 francs each month until they turn 18. Dr. Jim Pugh, Universal Income Project joins Thom Hartmann to discuss this.
