It’s always just a little bit sad to see Repug politicians and pundits contort themselves into Olympics-grade pretzel formations in order to justify and support the behavior of the Republican nominee.
Again and again, we have seen pundits and GOP leadership look up with hope in their eyes, wondering if in this moment, Trump will finally make his infamous “pivot” and start acting like a damn presidential candidate.
Like a child who’s daddy will never come home, it’s a little heartbreaking to watch the likes of Paul Ryan and others as they continue to believe in the pivot – and praise every moment when Trump isn’t acting like the fascist demagogue he truly is.
Case in point: this Fox News clip featuring Mark Halperin in which he attempts to pose Donald Trump’s Iran video claim change-up as something worthy of praise.
