Oh geez, Hill, looks like it’s time to give Bill his tranquilizers and load him up in his over-sized dog kennel until election day.
Stumping for his dear wife Hillary, former president Bill Clinton addressed a crowd in Flint, Michigan where he once again placed his foot in his mouth on Obama’s Affordable Care Act.
Clinton, who has made an effort for the entire election to tie herself to Obama and his healthcare act, was no doubt infuriated to see her husband attempting to destroy the healthcare plan’s reputation.
Said Bill:
“So you’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden 25 million more people have health care and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half. It’s the craziest thing in the world.”
If you remember, back during the primaries, Clinton made sure to sing Obamacare’s praises as often as she could, especially when forced to face up to Bernie Sanders’ call for “Medicaid for all.” Clinton tried to frame Bernie’s plan as far too ambitious, while her small and incremental expansions on the current system would be much more reasonable and realistic.
Is it possible that Bill is now trying to win over those same voters who supported the single-payer system suggested by Sanders? And if so, how can Clinton expect to reconcile her new more liberal view with her repeated, strong support for incremental change?
