The 2016 presidential election has made friends of enemies and enemies of friends, turning like-minded Americans against one another at the highest level since the Civil War. Though we should all be long used to and jaded by the insanity surrounding us daily, we still find we can be utterly flabbergasted by a well-placed piece of news.

One such newsworthy item throwing us through a loop today is the statement from Right-wing wing-nut Glenn Beck declaring that it might just be the right thing to do to vote for Hillary Clinton.

Beck was doing an interview with liberal, unconventional media source Vice News when he said that not only was Donald Trump immoral and unethical, but that he could not vote for the man and consider himself to be either of those things. For Beck, allowing Clinton to become president has become by far the better option – a shocking evolution.

“If she is elected, the world does not end…. Once elected, Hillary can be fought. Her tactics are blatant and juvenile, and battling her by means of political and procedural maneuvering or through the media , through public marches and online articles, all of that will be moral, worthy of man of principal.

Her nominees can be blocked, her proposed laws voted down.

The alternative does not offer a moral person the same opportunity. If one helps to elect an immoral man to the highest office, then one is merely validating his immorality, lewdness, and depravity.”

As for Beck himself, he says he can’t make himself vote for Clinton, though he says it has crossed his mind. That is apparently how vehemently he opposes Trump. Though he had been a staunch “Never Trump” voter from the beginning, Beck is the last one we’d expect to stand up for his principles against Trump.

Watch.
