We have heard a lot in recent weeks about some people’s plans to monitor the polls on election day on behalf of Donald Trump. But thanks to the unprecedented, violent rhetoric of the Trump campaign, one can easily assume that the sort of “monitoring” a Trump supporter might do is likely to be less than constructive, and possible even suppressing.
So what do you do if you roll up to the poll on Tuesday and find that some back-country yahoo has taken it upon himself to intimidate or otherwise stop you from casting your ballot?
First, try to restrain yourself – a person in jail is not a person who can simply go vote – and then call the NAACP.
The NAACP themselves are spreading this message on the days leading up to the election, encouraging anyone who sees any intimidation funny business to call their lawyers immediately for counsel.
If someone tries to stop you from voting, take their picture and call 1-866-OUR-VOTE. Lawyers will be ready. https://t.co/IsA6nGUn0E

Of course, you could always save yourself the trouble of having to kindly detach yourself from a hopped-up Trump looney on Tuesday by voting early. Either way, exercise your rights safely and intelligently – don’t let anyone stop you.
