In this Majority Report clip, we watch Wes Clark Jr.—climate activist, Army veteran, TYT commentator, and son of retired Gen. Wesley Clark—speak at a “forgiveness ceremony” at Standing Rock. Wes Clark Jr. helped spearhead the effort to bring U.S. veterans to stand with activists and tribal water protectors to prevent the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Following the order from President Obama that stopped the DAPL’s ability to build and awarded a major, hard-fought victory to the Standing Rock Sioux, Clark Jr. took the opportunity to conduct a ceremony with Sioux and Lakota leaders wherein he offers apologies for a wide range of wrongs the Indian nations have suffered at the hands of the U.S. military and government.
