It doesn’t matter how often you attack Black Lives Matter and go on anti-Beyoncé rants, if you also support a woman’s right to choose, you’re dead to the conservative Right.

That was the lesson learned by right-wing sweetheart Tomi Lahren who found her exploding popularity deflated last week when she appeared on The View and expressed her pro-choice views.

Lahren, who has made a career off of saying everything your right-wing uncle believes while looking young, attractive, and blonde, is also well-spoken and intelligent. Employed at The Blaze, Lahren’s online show “Final Word,” has been extremely successful online, and she now touts millions of followers.

Despite all this, it appears that stepping just outside the far-right’s bubble is a death sentence, and many took the opportunity to slam the young conservative over the weekend.

Even Glenn Beck, founder of the Blaze and Lahren’s boss called her out publicly on Twitter, accusing her of being intellectually dishonest.

Lahren said months ago that she would likely not be staying on at the Blaze after her contract was up in September, but now reportedly the network is considering replacing her before the contract can end. Unfortunately for the Blaze, while they may now disagree with the 24-year-old’s politics, she was by far their most successful host.

Even if Lahren has found herself among strangers in the far-right wing of the party, there is no room for her, either, in the liberal sphere. While liberals might have found themselves temporarily endeared to Lahren, we cannot forget the months of rabid conservatism she has spread, including her clearly racially-tinted views on police brutality and political activism. While Lahren’s surprising about-face on women’s rights is a nice change of pace, it cannot be stated without the context of her rabid anti-feminist views.

May this be a lesson to Lahren that she was only beloved when she read the script of the far right. Her nuance regarding her own bodily autonomy will not be tolerated among the male-dominated conservative party.
