While his lawyers fight tooth and nail to keep shared custody of his three children, Alex Jones was busy reassuring his adoring fans that he was indeed fully committed to the lunacy he spews from InfoWars daily.
When Jones’ attorney was quoted in early proceedings in a custody case calling his client a “performance artist,” many in the media, including myself, were eager to report on it. But Jones didn’t take too kindly to the media’s excitement and sought to reassure his fans that he was not faking his conspiracy-laden drivel. Not one bit.
In response, Jones issued a video on his InfoWars facebook page highlighting some of the news reports regarding the legitimacy of his show and calling him an “actor.”
The video featured a clip of George Stephanopoulos who noted that Jones “seems caught between protecting his brand and preserving his relationship with his kids.”
Jones responded by suggesting that it was the media calling him “fake news,” rather than the reality: that they were simply reporting on what his attorney argued in court. Instead, Jones danced around the meaning of “performance artist” by noting that on occasion, he plays characters which he does not believe are real.
“I’m being an actor, acting like I’m a space alien who wants to exterminate the population of the earth, trying to sell you on taking vaccines. I don’t actually believe that the “Star Trek” character’s real. Then they go, ‘Oh my gosh! Alex Jones is fake! He says he’s an actor!'”
When Jones says “they,” he is purposefully ignoring the comments made by his own attorney. He is actively sabotaging his own custody hearing.
No matter what, Jones wants his fans to know that when he is being Alex Jones, he is being 100% authentic. All that crazy you see on any given moment on InfoWars? 100% pure, unadulterated Alex Jones bananas.
He may lose his kids, but he will never lose his commitment to dangerous conspiracy theories, ripping off his shirt, and selling vitamin supplements to the delusional and uninformed.
Watch.
