One might think that when your news network – your employer – is facing increased scrutiny for sexual harassment of female employees, you might keep your mouth shut for a while. Instead, Bill O’Reilly’s number two guy Jesse Watters made an incredibly sexual comment about First Daughter Ivanka Trump in the same breath that he criticizes the left for their distrust of her.

Watters was commenting on an appearance Ms. Trump made while in Berlin, Germany at an event dedicated to female entrepreneurship. Ivanka sat on a panel with a host of powerful, influential women but was booed when she attempted to use that platform to lie about the views of her father.

Ivanka made the misstep when she attempted to portray her father as a “champion” for families and women, something the Berlin audience didn’t buy for a moment. They began to boo her, and the moderator made sure Ivanka could not ignore their displeasure.

In response, Fox’s Watters accused the “left” of being anti-women when they criticize Ivanka.

“It’s funny the left says they really respect women, but when they’re given an opportunity to respect a woman like that, they boo and hiss.”

Of course, Watters doesn’t note that it’s not the “left” who booed Ivanka, but rather German citizens, their political affiliation unknown. They didn’t boo her because they’re being paid by George Soros or are part of some evil anti-conservative plot – they booed her because from the outside looking in, they can smell Ivanka’s particular brand of bull a mile away.

Still, after valiantly defending Ivanka from the world, Watters promptly erased any chivalry from his defense by making a crude sexual joke.

“So I don’t really get what’s going on here, but uh, I really like how she was speaking into that microphone.”

In Fox News land, sexualizing the very woman you are trying to defend is the ultimate compliment. Now say ‘thank you,’ Ivanka.

Watch.

Update: After publication, Watters issued a statement attempting to clarify his remarks on Ivanka.

“During the break we were commenting on Ivanka’s voice and how it was low and steady and resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ. This was in no way a joke about anything else.”
