Capitol Hill was put on security lockdown after shots were reported outside the Capitol on Thursday afternoon.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) responded to the scene. A suspect has been reported as being taken into custody, as law enforcement officials will be vigorously investigating the shooting.
One police officer has been reported injured.
