Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee have officially had enough of their chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA). For the past year, Issa has been wasting Congressional time on investigations by trying to pin the IRS and Benghazi “scandals” on the Obama Administration.

All 17 Democratic members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee signed and sent a letter to Chairman Issa insisting that he stop wasting time and money so they can do some “real work.”

“To date, the Committee’s investigation has been characterized by wild and unsubstantiated political accusations that turn out to be completely inaccurate after further investigation,” the letter stated. “In fact, the Washington Post fact checker has awarded you 12 Pinocchios over the past 12 months for inaccurate claims you have made during this investigation. We believe is it time to end these seemingly endless and unsubstantiated political attacks and direct the Committee’s efforts towards concrete and lasting reforms.”

Issa has been busy trying to hold the Obama Administration responsible for the attack on the American diplomatic mission in Libya in which four American officials were killed. Issa, to no avail, has continuously attempted to blame former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for mishandling security measures. Each theory of Issa’s was debunked, of course.

The Pentagon has estimated Issa’s Benghazi investigation to have cost millions of dollars, along with thousands of Congressional work hours. The investigation has become such a farce that people in Issa’s aisle have called the investigation a “witch-hunt” and demanded he end the probe.

Issa also claimed that the IRS, by the hand of Obama, targeted right-wing groups trying to file for 501(c)(4) tax status and denied their applications based on their political affiliations. Information turned up that the IRS scrutinized left-wing groups as well, showing that their was no political bias on part of the IRS.

The bottomline is that Issa has misled Congress and the American public by  presenting false evidence in hopes of tarnishing the Obama Administration because the GOP is still upset over the 2012 presidential elections. The “scandals” have gone on long enough, and the investigation have turned up nothing concrete in the year they have been going on. Time to move on to something else.
