During his reign as head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has taken some fairly progressive stances on issues such as gay rights, abortion, corporate greed, and the environment.
While speaking in the Philippines this past week, Francis told the audience that humans had “slapped” Mother Nature in the face. He’s come out against fracking in the past as well.
When interviewed by South American filmmakers about fracking, Francis was holding tshirts reading “NO to Fracking,” and “Water is more precious than gold.”
