Comedian Lewis Black appeared on The Nightly Show ‘s panel this week to discuss Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign. Lewis began the panel discussion by comparing Cruz to a bad acid trip.

“I took LSD in my youth, and it didn’t prepare me for [Cruz],” said Black.

Black continued blasting Cruz, saying the Texas senator belongs in the 1950s during the McCarthy era.

“We’ve lived through this before. This is 1956. If [Cruz] had appeared at Liberty University and it was shot in black and white, then I’d go, ‘I get it.’ This is someone who should have never made it to color television.”
